Ultrasound Tech - General

Overview

• Location: Fortuna, California
• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Day shift, 5 x 8-hour shifts (8:00 to 16:30), 40 hours per week
• Float scope: May be required to float to another facility within a reasonable distance, with a float policy acknowledgment required

Required Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with that experience completed within the last year

Documents and Background

• Identification: Government-issued photo ID and Social Security card (as applicable for I-9)
• E-Verify: Attestation required
• Background check: Completed within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived or worked in the past 7 years, and updated annually. Includes SSN trace, death master index, county and nationwide criminal searches, national sex offender search, FACIS Level 3, education verification, and an international search if applicable.
• Background check cancellation criteria: Open or active hits, any felony cases, more than one DUI charge, or any sex offender hit
• Sanctions checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG): Required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
• Education verification: Third-party verification required. For allied/non-clinical roles, verify a related degree, high school, or college education.
• Annual regulatory training: Required annually, approximately 3.5 hours of online modules

Health Requirements

• Physical exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, DO, or APRN. Must state the candidate is free of infectious disease and able to work with or without accommodation.
• TB screening: IGRA/TSPOT, QuantiFERON, or 2 PPDs within 12 months of start. Renewal requires 1 PPD or TB titer. Positive TB history requires proof of past positive and a chest X-ray.
• MMR (measles, mumps, rubella): 2 MMR vaccines at least 28 days apart, or a positive titer. A low or equivocal titer requires additional vaccines or boosters, or a signed declination.
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or a positive titer. A low or equivocal titer requires additional vaccines or boosters, or a signed declination.
• Hepatitis B: Signed declination, or documentation of both a positive titer and vaccination series
• Tdap: Required within 10 years (declination accepted)
• Drug screen: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start. Instant results are acceptable.
• Flu vaccine: Required during flu season (9/1 to 3/30). A declination on the required form is acceptable.
• COVID: Latest vaccination record preferred. Declinations are not required. Candidates without documentation are treated as unvaccinated and must follow infection prevention measures for unvaccinated staff.
• Respirator clearance (RespSafety): Required for travel. Must be medically cleared annually for respirator use through a virtual questionnaire.
• Fit test: Required for travel. Completed onsite unless a valid record exists within 1 year. Any mask type is acceptable.

Experience and References

• References: Minimum of 2 covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
• Employment application: Must include at least the last 5 years of employment, with month/year dates. Gaps must be explained.
