Ultrasound Tech - Weekend Nights
Location: Chillicothe, Ohio Specialty: Diagnostic Imaging Employment Type: Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 24
Schedule
- Weekend nights: Saturday and Sunday, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. (24 hours per week)
Required Qualifications
- Ultrasound Technologist with 3 years of experience
- Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
- ARDMS (AB) or ARDMS (OB)
Role Scope
- Performs general ultrasound exams only
- Does not want vascular techs
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures per physician orders and department protocols
- Operates ultrasound equipment and selects transducers, settings, and techniques for optimal image quality
- Prepares patients by explaining exams, taking relevant medical history, and positioning them
- Records normal and abnormal sonographic findings and provides preliminary impressions to radiologists and physicians
- Maintains accurate patient records, including procedure and technical data
- Ensures sterilization and maintenance of ultrasound equipment
- Follows infection control, patient safety, radiation safety, HIPAA, and regulatory standards
- Participates in quality assurance programs and continuing education as required
- Documents and communicates all variations from protocol
- Cares for patients of all age groups, from neonate to geriatric
