Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Cushing, Oklahoma Employment Type: Health Services, Travel Contract Length: 6 weeks Start: Auto offer

Shift and Schedule

• Nights, 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Possible 36/48 rotation
• 36-hour guarantee, with open availability expected per the scheduling policy

Role Summary

• Provides comprehensive nursing care in a correctional setting for inmates/residents, including executing Licensed Independent Provider orders, dispensing and administering medications, and assisting with examinations and treatment
• Attends sick call with the physician, prepares patient lists and examining rooms, and operates pill call
• Examines and assesses new or ill/injured inmates/residents, refers them to the emergency room or other appropriate facilities, and performs emergency procedures as needed
• Supervises and monitors licensed vocational/practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff
• Monitors inpatient hospitalizations, audits pharmacy use, and complies with pharmacy laws, especially those covering controlled substances
• Maintains medical records confidentiality, documents services, and prepares reports, logs, and safety/accident reports
• Coordinates contract medical personnel, responds to lawsuits with corporate counsel, and attends court hearings when necessary
• Supports accreditation of the medical program where applicable

Required Qualifications

• Social security card and driver's license required for facility clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of professional nursing experience
