Description

We are seeking dedicated Sign Language Interpreters (SLIs) to join our team for Richmond County School System!

Pay starting from $52/hr w2 and $58/hr 1099

No non competes in our contracts

Requirements:

  • EIPA score of minimum 3.5 or higher on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment.
  • National Certification: Holding a valid certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), such as the NIC (National Interpreter Certification).
  • Bachelors Degree or beyond in Deaf Education or related field
  • GaPSC Clearance: Must hold or be eligable for a Georgia Professional Standards Commission Certification.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and effective interpretation between spoken language (English or other spoken language) and American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Interpret classroom instruction, lectures, discussions, and other school-related activities to ensure that deaf or hard-of-hearing students receive the information presented
  • Work one-on-one with students as needed to provide additional support and clarification
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school personnel to support the overall educational development of students
