Join Our Team as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
FSN is seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver comprehensive speech, language, swallowing, and communication services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by enhancing residents' communication abilities and promoting their overall quality of life within a collaborative, supportive environment.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Commitment: Monthly with optional renewal
- Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing functions.
- Develop and implement individualized, person-centered treatment plans based on assessment results and goals.
- Provide direct therapy services tailored to residents' diverse communication and feeding requirements.
- Recommend, train, and support the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and assistive technologies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
- Educate and train residents’ families, caregivers, and direct support staff on communication strategies and dysphagia management.
- Monitor residents' progress and adjust therapy approaches as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and timely reports per regulatory standards.
- Work closely with healthcare professionals—physicians, nurses, occupational and physical therapists, psychologists, dietitians—to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current and valid state-issued SLP license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused approach.
