About the Role:
As a Registered Nurse in the Antepartum unit, you will play a vital role in providing specialized care for pregnant women experiencing high-risk conditions such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, preterm labor, and multiple gestations. Your expertise will support both maternal and fetal health through monitoring, education, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure the best outcomes for patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess high-risk antepartum patients, identifying changes in conditions such as preeclampsia, diabetes, and preterm labor.
- Administer and titrate IV medications including magnesium sulfate, tocolytics, and corticosteroids, following physician orders.
- Perform continuous electronic fetal monitoring (EFM), interpret fetal heart rate patterns, and communicate findings to the care team.
- Educate patients and their families on activity restrictions, warning signs, postpartum expectations, and birth planning.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document care accurately and maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety standards.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
- Valid Compact RN license for the state of employment.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in antepartum or maternal-fetal care preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification is preferred; RNC-OB certification is a plus.
- Experience with inpatient obstetric nursing and managing high-risk pregnancies.
Shift & Schedule:
- Night shift: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
