RN-Medsurg | RN | Acute Care, IL

Assignment Overview

Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for the Medsurg unit in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a diverse range of medical diagnoses, including cases involving GI bleeds, sepsis, cellulitis, CHF, and COVID-19 among others. Candidates must be familiar with titrating Heparin drips and comfortable working with a patient-nurse ratio of 4-6:1 depending on shift schedules.

Responsibilities

Provide care to a wide range of medical patients, including those with high acuity
Titrate Heparin drips as necessary
Float to other med/surg units as required
Participate in shift reports and adhere to weekend and holiday rotations
Attempt IV starts and utilize unit resources if unsuccessful

Qualifications

Required:

Active IL RN licensure or application in process
BLS Certification
Consent to a negative drug screen upon request
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays
