Assignment Overview
Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Neuro ICU unit with an 18-bed capacity. The ideal candidate will have experience in acute care settings, managing a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2. Must be skilled in critical procedures such as ventriculostomy and be certified in the NIH Stroke Scale. Candidates should be comfortable with a range of titrated drips and ventilator management.
Assignment Details
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirements: Rotating every other holiday
- Floating Requirements: Travelers float first, potential to float to intermediate and general floors
- Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2700 (negotiable)
Responsibilities
- Administer care to patients with complex neurological conditions
- Manage ventilators, arterial and central lines, and titrate drips as required
- Interpret telemetry strips and comply with physician orders
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including a charge nurse and tele-techs
Qualifications
Required:
- Active Illinois nursing license or pending application
- Certification in BLS and ACLS
- Experience with ventriculostomy, ventilators, and acute stroke management
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
