POSITION: Registered Nurse - CVICU (Cardio Vascular Intensive Care)

SCHEDULING DETAILS AND CHARTING

• Shift hours/Contract Length: 7p-7a, 13 weeks

• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend

• Charting: EPIC experience required

• RTO, Block & Special Scheduling Requests: Must submit requests upon submission

• Call off Policy: The client may cancel (call off) up to three shifts during a 13-week contract period without incurring charges for the canceled hours.

• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed

• Locals Accepted? Radius Rule: RN's within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted.

REQUIRED LICENSE/ CERTIFICATIONS

• Pending License Accepted: No, Must have an active New York Single State RN license. (NY is not Compact)

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS - Please include valid NIHSS in submittal

REQUIRED CLINICAL SKILLS
========================
• Arterial line management, central line care/management, PICC line management, blood product administration

• Ventilator management, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP support, assist with chest tube insertion/removal, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation

• Continuous IV sedation and paralytics, emergency medications, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips

• CABG, Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, Swan-Ganz monitoring

• CVVHD/CRRT, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG acquisition, infection prevention, PPE use, wound vac care, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure

• Ratios: 1:2; Impella nurse ratio 1:2 with occasional 1:1 based on acuity

• 16 beds with patients that include sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-vad workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post cardiac arrest/targeted temperature management, respiratory failure/shock, CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO

• Scrub Color: Any combination of navy blue and white

• Floating: Will be required to float within skillset

Rochester General Hospital’s CVICU provides expert care for critically ill cardiac surgery patients, including heart transplant, advanced cardiac device management (ECMO, LVAD, RVAD, IABP, Impella), and complex multi-organ failure cases. The CVICU features 24/7 provider coverage, a collaborative multidisciplinary team, and strong support for family communication and post-operative rehabilitation. Patients transition from CVICU to dedicated step-down units for cardiac rehabilitation. Rochester General Hospital is a 528-bed acute care teaching facility in Rochester, NY. It is Magnet-recognized and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. The hospital is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, and offers several specialized services
