Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Santa Rosa, CA 95405
Start Date: November 30, 2026
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12 Hours
Shift Timing: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Floating: May float to nearby facilities, including Petaluma
Compensation Package:
• Weekly Gross Pay: $2,400/week
• Taxable Pay: $900/week ($25/hour)
• Weekly Housing & Meal Stipend: $1,500/week
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a busy Respiratory Department.
The ideal candidate will have strong critical care experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to evaluate, assess, and treat patients using Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) protocols.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience.
• Active California or Compact license in hand at submission.
• Recent community hospital experience required.
• Epic experience required.
• Must be comfortable floating to nearby facilities when needed.
• Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills.
Required Certifications
• RRT
• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• PALS
All required certifications must be active.
Clinical Experience & Skills
• Adult critical care and emergency department experience.
• Ventilator management, including BiPAP, CPAP, and SIMV.
• Mechanical ventilation weaning and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms.
• ABG collection and interpretation.
• Chest physiotherapy and pulmonary hygiene.
• Intubation assistance, extubation, and airway management.
• Tracheostomy care and suctioning.
• Oxygen therapy and high-flow nasal cannula.
• Medication administration and nebulizer treatments.
• Patient transport, including interdepartmental and ambulance transport.
• Patient Population & Equipment
• Patient population includes infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Regional trauma center experience preferred.
• Equipment includes Drager V800 ventilators, LTV transport ventilators, V60 BiPAP, Vapotherm, IPV, Cough Assist, and Smart Vest.
Important Assignment Requirements
• Every other weekend coverage.
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront.
• RTO exceeding 7 days requires additional approval and may delay the offer.
