Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ER) in Presque Isle, ME. We are seeking dedicated RNs with a passion for patient care and a commitment to excellence. This contract position offers a supportive environment and the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, from neonates to geriatrics, including trauma, stroke, and behavioral health cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced ER setting.
• Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals, including ED providers and mid-level providers.
• Assist with critical procedures such as EKGs, IV starts, nebulizer treatments, and vent management.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort while adhering to hospital policies and protocols.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, NRP.
• Charge experience is a plus; please indicate if applicable.

Patient Ratios:

• RN - 1:4 (variable upon patient acuity)
• Tech - 1:11

Support on the Unit:

• ED Provider and mid-level provider available (hours vary).
• Critical care transport team assistance in the ED.
• 24/7 hospitalist and house supervisor support.

Additional Information:

• Two days of hospital orientation and one day with a preceptor.
• Weekend rotation required: Every other weekend.
• No call required; holiday expectations as needed.
• Scrub color: Any professional color; hospital scrubs available but not required.
• On-site locker/changing room and gym available.
• Free parking provided.
