Join a leading acute-care hospital as an MS/Tele Float Registered Nurse in Wilmington, NC. This position is part of the ED Holding Support team located in the Float Pool. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will provide care for patients located within the Emergency Department who are awaiting inpatient beds. Your expertise in Med Surg and Telemetry will be essential in managing a fast-paced unit with a 1:6-7 patient ratio.

Required Skills / Certifications / Experience:

• BLS & NIHSS certification required
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry and ER holding experience
• Travel experience required

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15)
• 36 and 48-hour contracts accepted
• Longer contracts available through 2/27/2027
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed
• No call required
• 7 days of RTO max per contract
• Must be able to work holidays

This unit has patients with various medical/surgical adult diagnoses, including PCU level patients. Travelers are expected to take Med Surg/Telemetry cases as well as float to ED and MedSurg areas as needed. Contract staff will be assigned to work on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report to work during catastrophic events or disasters.

Special Procedures / Unit Details:

The ED Holding unit is our inpatient holding area located within the Emergency Department. Patients may have any medical/surgical adult diagnosis and may include PCU level patients. Travelers are expected to float as necessary.

Special Equipment: Standard equipment, cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and other monitoring systems.

Unit Systems: Pyxis, Epic, & SBAR.

Unit Orientation: 12 hours.

Scrubs: Navy.

All candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty. Due to the high turnover rate, all candidates will be interviewed. Local candidates are accepted at the local rate.
