Join our team as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Neurology at a leading acute-care hospital in Parkersburg, WV. This is a contract position offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment. We are looking for dedicated RNs to provide exceptional patient care in a supportive and collaborative setting.

Unit Details: You will be working on the 4N Ortho-Neuro unit, which features 33 private rooms and a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1 to 6. Experience with orthopedic patients and PCA pumps is essential. EPIC experience is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide care for patients undergoing elective surgeries including hips, knees, and shoulders, as well as general MedSurg cases.
• Collaborate with a Charge Nurse available 24/7, who may take patient assignments as needed.
• Work alongside Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to assist with vital signs, activities of daily living (ADLs), and more.
• Monitor patients using remote telemetry as needed, though RNs are not required to read strips.
• Participate in self-scheduling with the permanent staff, while being flexible to meet unit needs.

Schedule: This position involves 12-hour shifts from 0700 to 1930 or 1900 to 0730, with a half-hour lunch break. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend, and holiday coverage may be necessary based on unit staffing needs.

Orientation: New hires will undergo 1 day of EPIC orientation followed by 1 day on the floor with a preceptor, transitioning to independent practice on the 3rd day.
