We are seeking a dedicated and skilled PICU Registered Nurse to join our team at a leading acute-care hospital in Baltimore, MD. This contract position is ideal for experienced nurses looking to make a difference in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). If you are passionate about providing high-quality care to pediatric patients, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents in the PICU.
• Manage patients with complex medical conditions, including respiratory distress, seizures, and sepsis.
• Administer medications and treatments, including continuous drips and moderate sedation.
• Utilize advanced equipment such as ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannulas.
• Perform assessments and monitor vital signs, including ICP monitoring.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner charting system.

Requirements:

• 2 years of PICU experience is required.
• Current Maryland or compact RN license required upon submission.
• BCLS/BLS, PALS, and Basic EKG certifications are required.
• Strong dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience.
• Experience with central line and PICC line management.
• Comfortable caring for ventilated pediatric patients and managing acute airways.
• Ability to float to NICU and Pediatrics as needed.

Additional Information:

• Patient ratio is 1:2.
• Weekend coverage will consist of 5 weekends within each 6-week schedule.
• No on-call requirement.
• Orientation is approximately 40 hours, including virtual and clinical training.
• Local candidates are accepted.
• Time off restrictions include auto-approval for 14 days or less; no RTO on hard-to-fill days.
