Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Travel RN in the Med Surg unit located in Decatur, TX. This is a contract position with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 60
• Number of Staff: 50
• Patient Ratios: 5:1 on 4th Floor, 6:1 on 5th Floor
• Type of Equipment: Remote telemetry, capnography, Alaris IV pumps, glucometers, dynamaps
• EMR: Alterra (Allscripts)

Typical Procedures Performed:

• All abdominal surgeries: cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colectomy, diagnostic procedures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, heart catheterizations, run-offs
• Gastric sleeves, total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements
• Ortho trauma repairs (fractures)

Required Skills:

• Must Have: Telemetry experience, Med Surg experience
• Preferred: Cardiac recognition, IV starts, time management

Best Personality Fit: Team-oriented, positive, and flexible.

Required Certifications:

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS

Floating Areas: Mandatory float as needed to Inpatient rehab, ED, and PCU. Assignments will not exceed skill level or scope.

Dress Code: Currently wearing black scrubs but will transition to Medical City Blue.

Weekend Shifts: Weekend shifts are required; no on-call shifts.
