We are seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to join our team in Dannemora, NY. This is a contract position within a maximum security correctional facility, specifically in the NYS Office of Mental Health unit. The role involves medication administration and management under the supervision of a leading healthcare provider.

As a Behavioral Health RN, you will be responsible for:

• Receiving verbal reports from the previous nurse upon arrival.
• Processing MD orders, including inputting orders into CNET and printing updated MARs.
• Administering medications to patients in various units including RCTP OB, RCTP Dorm, Long Term Care, Infirmary Therapeutic Behavioral Unit (TBU), and General Population incarcerated individuals.
• Documenting medications given and refused.
• Conducting control and tool counts with a second nurse.
• Maintaining medication accountability by counting stock medications and documenting appropriately.
• Assessing patients brought to the satellite unit and admitting them to RCTP if necessary.
• Documenting RCTP nursing progress notes.

Additional requirements include submitting proof of current nursing license, registration, background check, TB testing, and recent flu shot. Candidates will also be subject to orientation by the Central New York Psychiatric Center and the Department of Corrections and Community Services (DOCCS).
