Job Summary: The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process. Accepts responsibility for direction of co-workers and delegation of role-appropriate tasks in the implementation of care. Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Job Qualifications:

• Education: Completion of an accredited nursing program, resulting in one of the following:
  • Diploma in Nursing
  • Associate degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Licensure/Certification: Valid license to practice in the State of Ohio. CPR required.
• Experience: Previous Registered Nursing experience preferred.
• Job-related Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; problem-solving abilities; ability to handle multiple priorities; critical thinking skills.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care of each patient according to the nursing process.
• Provides quality care based on assessment needs and established plan of care/pathway.
• Educates patients and families throughout the care process.
• Documents the nursing process/pathway accurately and concisely.
• Notifies physicians of pertinent observations and changes in patient status.
• Administers medications and performs treatments safely and accurately.
• Assures equipment and supplies are available for patient care.

Physical Capacity Demand: Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Position may require frequent patient handling activity.
