Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) in Seattle, WA. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are passionate about maternal and infant health.

Contract Details:

• 8 Week Contract Length
• 4x12 Night Shift
• No extensions offered after the original 8-week contract
• Locals at the same rate
• Perm candidates of any other Providence facility (NON-SWEDISH) are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months

Requirements:

• 1 Year Experience in Labor and Delivery
• High-risk experience required
• First-timers accepted
• Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Must work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• FLOAT REQUIRED: Postpartum / Antepartum - may float to sister facilities that do Mother/Baby

Patient Diagnoses:

• Midwifery clients
• Private OBs
• Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery
• Community care clinics

Special Procedures/Unit Details:

• High Risk/High Volume L&D - all types
• 4 ORs available
• Must have high risk experience and be able to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
• Functions in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continues care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum
• Hard stop requirement: do not screen for circulate
• Hard stop requirement: do not screen for NB care, eyes, thighs, assessment
• Administer Heparin, Insulin, Magnesium Sulfate
• Circulate and provide NB care including eyes and Vitamin K injections - thighs and newborn assessments
• Average Daily Census: 15/day; 500-600 deliveries/month
• Rooms: 31 Beds: 31
• Schedule: Posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs

Certifications:

• Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
• Required: BLS, NRP
