Join a leading acute-care hospital as a PACU Registered Nurse in Jacksonville, NC. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), where you will provide immediate postoperative care to patients following surgery.

Position Details:

• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, Days. 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
• On-Call Requirement: Nights, weekends, and holidays; typically one night per week.
• Weekends/Holidays: Required.
• Floating: Travelers may be required to float to units with similar or lower acuity levels as needed.
• Local Candidates: Not accepted. Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius.

Required Experience:

• One year of Main Hospital PACU experience required.
• Pediatric (Peds) experience in the operating room (OR) required.
• Charting: Meditech (Experience highly preferred).

Required Certifications:

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI.
• License: NC or compact license required.

Department Overview: The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) provides immediate postoperative care to patients following surgery. With a specialized, 8-bay unit, patients are monitored at a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio. PACU nurses manage patient airways, pain levels, vital signs, and other postoperative needs before transferring patients to the Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) for continued observation. As part of Surgical Services, the PACU operates as a collaborative, team-based department focused on patient safety and satisfaction, utilizing the latest surgical technology and equipment in collaboration with board-certified surgeons and experienced healthcare professionals.
