Join a leading acute-care hospital as an RRT Respiratory Therapist specializing in Neurology in Massena, NY. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment, providing essential respiratory care to patients with various diagnoses.

Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, CRT, State licensed

Skills: Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, Extubation, Nasal airway placement, Nasal airway suctioning, Oral airway placement, Oral/nasal suctioning, Pulmonary hygiene, Sputum specimen collection, Tracheostomy care/management, and more.

Special Procedures/Unit Details: The respiratory therapy department manages emphysema, asthma, and other respiratory disease processes. We perform non-invasive ventilation, high flow oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, ABG draws and analysis, and chest physiotherapy. Invasive ventilation is stabilized in the emergency room and transferred to our sister hospital.

Shifts primarily consist of 12-hour days from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with one 8-hour shift on Fridays to complete an 80-hour work pay period. On Friday nights from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m., on-call duty is required.
