Join our team as a Step Down Registered Nurse in Morgantown, WV, where you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care in a progressive care unit. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment with a focus on patient-centered care.

As a Step Down RN, you will be responsible for monitoring patients who require a higher level of care than general medical-surgical patients but do not require intensive care. You will work a 3x12-hour day shift, typically from 07:00 to 19:00, with some weekends and holidays included.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Step Down Unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including reading telemetry strips.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and families about health management and recovery.

Requirements:

• 1.5-2+ years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry and 2 years in Step Down.
• Current certifications: BCLS, ACLS.
• Skills: IV start, telemetry experience.
• Ability to flex to a 1:5 patient ratio in emergencies.
• Must limit holiday RTO requests to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays.

Unit Information:

The Step Down Unit (SDU) serves patients with varying acuity levels, including those who would typically be in a Progressive Care or Telemetry unit in larger facilities. While travel experience is not required, blocked schedules will be considered for weekend blocks (Fri, Sat, Sun or Sat, Sun, Mon).

Additional Information:

• Scrubs: Not provided (burgundy and/or white).
• EMR: Cerner.
