Join a leading acute-care hospital in Parkersburg, WV, as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical. This is a contract position offering an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Unit Details: You will be working in the 1E - MedSurg/Infectious Disease unit, which consists of 18 private rooms designed for patients with infectious diseases. The typical staffing ratio is 1:5-6, and 1:4 if COVID cases are present, with 3-4 RNs scheduled per shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care for patients with various infectious diseases, including COVID, MRSA, and C-Diff.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies, including common MedSurg IV medications and antibiotics.
• Collaborate with a Charge Nurse available 24/7, who may take patients if necessary.
• Participate in a team environment with 2 CNAs scheduled per shift.
• Utilize remote telemetry services for patient monitoring.

Requirements:

• Active RN license and BLS certification.
• Strong knowledge in Medical-Surgical nursing and isolation precautions.
• Travel experience is required; EPIC experience is preferred.

Scheduling Details:

• 12-hour night shifts (0700-1930; 1900-0730) with a 30-minute lunch break.
• Every-other-weekend commitment is required for night shifts (Friday/Saturday/Sunday).
• Holiday shifts may be required based on unit needs.
• Travelers are typically the first to float to other MedSurg units as needed.

Orientation: You will receive 1 day of EPIC orientation followed by 1 day of floor orientation with a preceptor, and then you will be on your own by the 3rd day.
