Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Step Down Unit, specializing in IMC/IMU/PCU/STEPDOWN. This is an exciting opportunity to work in Morgantown, WV, where you will be part of a high-impact, fast-paced nursing unit that handles complex patient care issues, allowing you to practice at the top of your scope and abilities.

The Step Down Unit (7 East) is a 33-bed Trauma and General Surgery inpatient unit, recognized as a Comprehensive Bariatric Surgery Center. Here, you will encounter a variety of patient conditions and care modalities, including complex wound care, traumatic injuries, and spinal cord injuries. Nurses in this unit work collaboratively with care management, surgical and medical services, rehabilitation services, and perioperative services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to patients with multi-trauma, TBI, fractures, and general surgical conditions.
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 for floor patients and 1:3 for step-down patients.
• Utilize Epic for patient management and documentation.
• Perform complex wound care, manage drains and devices, and support respiratory needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Submission Requirements:

• Must have Epic experience and Level 1 trauma experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license address outside of 50 miles from the facility.
• Previous permanent candidates must be gone for 2 years.
• Previous travelers must have been gone for 1 full year.

Unit Notes:

• Weekend and holiday rotation required.
• Floating to like units is required (floor/step-down).
• Royal Blue scrubs are required.
