We are seeking a skilled Labor Nurse with experience in Labor & Delivery (L&D) to join our team in Port Lavaca, TX. This is a contract position that offers a unique opportunity to work in a rural healthcare setting, where you will be part of a dedicated team focused on providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns.

The facility is a designated Level I trauma center for Maternal and Neonatal Care, situated in a region with a transient population due to local plant construction. Our L&D department is typically staffed by two nurses, with most team members trained in all roles including Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery care. Strong assessment skills and experience with Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) are essential for this role.

As a Labor Nurse, you will be responsible for:

• Providing comprehensive care during labor and delivery.
• Monitoring maternal and fetal health throughout the labor process.
• Assisting with postpartum care and education for new mothers.
• Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the best outcomes for mothers and infants.

Housing can be challenging in the area due to ongoing construction and tourism, but travelers with RVs have reported the best options for accommodation. The Electronic Medical Record system used is OBIX, and the department averages 15-20 deliveries per month.
