Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Cardiac Tele Registered Nurse in the Heart & Vascular Unit. This 49-bed specialty medical/surgical unit offers a fast-paced environment, ideal for RNs looking to enhance their professional knowledge and expertise in the care of cardiovascular patients. You will care for specialty patients, including stable heart and lung transplants and Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs).
The Cardiac Vascular Unit collaborates closely with the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with rare instances of 1:7 at night depending on staffing. Candidates must possess BLS and ACLS certifications; NIH and CPI certifications are preferred. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital is required, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in a Level I Academic Medical Center. EPIC charting experience is also required.
As a travel RN, you will be expected to float within your scope to meet the facility's needs, which may include floating to the Bellevue campus. Possible units for floating include, but are not limited to, 4CS, 5 West, 6 Neuro, 4/5 Lied, 6/7 Lied, 7 HVU, 8 Werner, 9 Trauma, Bellevue MS, Observation, and SOTU. Care teams consist of CNAs, care techs, and transport teams, with LPNs assigned on some, but not all, floors. Please note that this is a 100% nicotine-free facility.
Weekend requirements include working 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period. Days include Saturday and Sunday, while nights may include Friday and Saturday nights. Up to two weeks of RTO is permitted, but must be submitted with your application. Additional requests after confirmation will be at the manager's discretion.
Travelers are required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays, including Thanksgiving (Wednesday/Thursday/Friday), Christmas (24th/25th/26th), and New Year's (31st/1st/2nd). Local candidates will not be accepted; candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility. Pending licenses are accepted, but if a license is not in hand at the time of submission, the traveler will be booked six weeks out.
Mandatory scrubs for RNs are Steele gray with the Nebraska Medicine logo printed on the back. Information on obtaining these scrubs will be provided upon confirmation. The facility also sells gray T-shirts that can be worn from their company store. Parking permits are available for professionals (cost varies by lot, approximately $55/month) or daily rate parking is available at $3 for 20 hours.
