Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Travel RN in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Richmond, VA. We are seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team while enhancing your nursing skills.

Unit Information:

• Unit Type: Progressive Surgical Unit (PSU)
• Number of Beds: 12
• Staffing: 20 total staff members, including 3-4 nurses on day shift and 3 nurses on night shift
• Patient Ratios: 4:1
• Equipment: Central lines, PCA, epidural, drains, foley, wound vac, wound care
• EMR: Meditech

Typical Procedures Performed:

• Colon resections, Whipple, liver and kidney surgeries, vascular, trauma
• Other surgeries excluding cardiac surgery - some medical overflow
• Cardiac drips (popular: Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin)

Skill Set:

• Must Have: Ability to read cardiac monitor, administer narcotics
• Preferred: Stepdown experience, post-surgery experience

Best Personality Fit: Team player with critical thinking skills, kind and compassionate demeanor.

Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS

Floating Areas: Telemetry and Med-Surg

Dress Code: All navy scrubs

Unit Guidelines/Policies: Vital signs and assessments every 4 hours; rhythm interpretation every 4 hours.

Weekends and On Call: Every other weekend; overtime available.
