Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Contract in Lawrence, Kansas

Join our healthcare team as an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Lawrence, Kansas. • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: As needed
• Floating: As needed, though infrequent
• On-Call: Not expected
• Healthcare Setting: On-site emergency department

Emergency Room Nurse Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Room or Emergency Department nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas or a valid compact-state license
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and provide weekend or holiday coverage as needed
• Strong emergency assessment, patient prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and deliver skilled nursing care to patients with urgent and emergent medical or traumatic conditions
• Recognize changes in patient status and promptly initiate appropriate emergency nursing interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Assist with emergency procedures, patient stabilization, and preparation for admission, transfer, or discharge
• Provide clear patient and family education regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards
• Support emergency department operations by adapting to changing patient volumes and assisting across the emergency care area when needed
