Vail is one of Colorado's top ski resort towns. Nestled between the Sawatch and Gore mountain ranges, it hosts the country's largest single-mountain resort with nearly 5,300 acres of epic slopes. During the warmer months, locals and visitors enjoy hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting and golfing. Vail Village is the city’s hot gathering spot with a European feel, with heated cobblestone streets that make it a joy to shop, dine and experience the lively nightlife. Hundreds of shops with everything from outdoor gear to jewelry and impressive works of art provide plenty of browsing and buying opportunities. Vail also frequently hosts festivals, including the Vail Jazz Festival and the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival, featuring renowned orchestras like the New York Philharmonic.
