Description

Job Summary – Medical Technologist

- Shift:
- Contract: Evening shift (1430-2300)
- Every other weekend required
- Occasional overnight shifts as needed

- Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years hospital clinical laboratory experience

- Certifications Required:
- ASCP certification
- Active license (pending not accepted)

- Procedures/Tests Performed:
- CBCWD, CMP, CRP, LFP
- Type and Screen with crossmatch
- Routine and blood cultures
- Respiratory PCR testing
- PT/INR, ESR
- Lactic acid, HA1C

- Specialized Skills Required:
- Blood Bank: ABO/Rh, Antibody Screen/ID, Crossmatch (AHG, Immediate Spin/IgG/Electronic), Antigen Typing, Cord Blood, Coombs Tests, Transfusion Reaction Workup
- Chemistry: 24-hour urine, Acetone, ABG, Cardiac Enzymes, Hormone/Thyroid, Immunoassay, TDM, QC Review
- Hematology/Coagulation: Automated and manual testing, Platelet aggregation, Reticulocyte, Fetal Hb, FDP
- Immunology/Serology: ASO, RF, RPR, Rubella, Body fluids
- Microbiology: Culture plating, Cytospin, Gram stain, PCR, Rapid tests, Wet prep
- Specimen Processing: Accessioning, Pipetting, Collection, Transport, Reporting
- Urinalysis: Analyzer, Manual/Microscopic, Crystal/Semen analysis
- Equipment: Siemen’s Dimensions, Sysmex XM

- Professional Skills:
- Blood specimen storage
- Hazardous materials/MSDS knowledge
- Proper disposal/labeling
- Quality assurance/control
- Transmission-based precautions
- Venipuncture

Med Ninjas Job ID #18060. Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
