Job Summary (List Format):

- Performs thorough and accurate patient assessments for all age groups from pediatrics to geriatrics.
- Demonstrates competent clinical nursing skills, including direct patient care and use of emergency equipment and procedures.
- Maintains complete, accurate, and timely documentation in accordance with guidelines.
- Adheres to professional standards, policies, and procedures, and seeks opportunities for professional growth.
- Delivers excellent patient and family-centered care, ensuring satisfaction and maintaining confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Follows National Patient Safety Goals, including use of universal protocols and safe patient identification and transfer techniques.
- Applies specialized knowledge for surgical patients, individualizing care based on procedure, diagnosis, and anesthesia type.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for prioritizing and directing patient care within the perioperative team.
- Provides patient and family education regarding surgical procedures and performs pre- and post-operative assessment and teaching.
- Supports timely completion and evaluation of Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness and completeness.
- Works 12-hour shifts (7p-7a), 36 hours per week in the Delivery Room unit.
- Physical requirements as defined by Occupational Safety/OMS.
- Required qualifications: 1 year RN experience, BLS, ACLS, and a current RN license.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
