Job Details:

VyTalent Surgical Solutions is seeking an experienced Surgical First Assistant to support operating room teams throughout the Norfolk VA area.

In this role, you’ll work closely with surgeons, OR nurses, and other members of the surgical team across multiple facilities. We’re looking for a First Assist with strong experience in OB, General Surgery, and Orthopedics who is comfortable working in different surgical environments based on facility needs.

Location: Norfolk VA

Setting: OR 

Pay Range: $2500.00 

Schedule: 07:00:00 to 17:00:00; 10 hour Dayshift 

Contract Length: Ongoing
Guranteed hours /wk = 30 

Candidate Type: Local/ Travel
ON Call requirement : 1 days/wk + 1 weekend per month

Requirements: 2 years of experience as a First Assist and national certification; Qualified applicants MUST have at least 2 years of experience in the OR as a First assist CST, Experience with OB, Neuro , General, Ortho, total Joints; Valid USA license, NO SA- C

Responsibilities:

• Assist the surgical team in preparing the operating room and ensuring appropriate readiness for scheduled cases.
• Support intraoperative workflow by anticipating surgeon needs and maintaining efficient, safe procedural flow.
• Help maintain sterile technique and infection-prevention practices throughout the surgical environment.
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, nursing, and perioperative staff to support patient safety.
• Accurately document required information and support continuity of care across the perioperative team.
