Schedule: 19:00 - 07:30 (Night, 4x12-Hour)
Contract Length: 13 weeks with possible extension

Requirements: 2 years of CVICU/CTICU experience; active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at the time of submission; proficiency in Epic; BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; arterial line management; blood product administration; central line and PICC line management; starting IVs; continuous IV sedation; procedural sedation administration; titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips; strong neuro experience, including post-brain surgery and EVD/ventriculostomy experience; FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias; multi-system organ failure; CABG; intra-aortic balloon pump; Impella; post-cardiac surgery care; pre/post-cardiac catheterization and intervention; pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring; IV insulin protocols; CVVHD/CRRT; CVA/acute stroke management; BiPAP and CPAP support; care of ventilated patients; high-flow nasal cannula; ABG interpretation; suctioning; ventilator management; infection prevention; isolation precautions and PPE use; surgical wounds with drains and wound vacs; no license or background hits; completed Qualivis Cover Sheet; current NURSYS report; all requested time off listed on the Qualivis Cover Sheet.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to Cardio Thoracic ICU and step-down patients within a universal bed model.
• Monitor and manage patients requiring cardiac, vasoactive, sedation, and insulin infusions.
• Perform critical care interventions including line management, ventilator care, dysrhythmia management, and ABG interpretation.
• Support patients before and after cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization, and related interventions.
• Provide care for complex neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, and multi-system conditions.
