Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN – Ohio

Start Date: December 14, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, every other weekend (Friday and Saturday nights). Contract options of 13-26 weeks available.

• First-time travelers welcome (profiles subject to manager review for candidates with only 1 year of experience)
• Specialized unit within a secure corrections facility requires additional credentialing and security clearance

Requirements:

• Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of acute care progressive care/stepdown/telemetry experience (must be current and consistent within the last 12 months)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (current)
• Previous telemetry experience with strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
• Proficiency in starting and maintaining peripheral IVs, isolation precautions, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Willingness to float within the organization as needed
• Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
• Two professional references required (one from manager/director or formal leadership position)

Additional Information:

This is a corrections unit requiring access clearance from corrections officers. The unit is secure and locked. Corrections experience is not required. Candidates must be responsive and cooperative with credentialing requirements, including urgent completion of Ohio fingerprinting. Strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start date with no exceptions. Former employees must have been away from the facility for 6 months or more to be eligible. Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
