Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – Texas

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Rural Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week travel assignment; 36 hours per week with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; 3 of 5 major holidays required (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Highlights:

• Labor & Delivery position at a 49-bed Short Term Acute Care hospital with Level IV Trauma designation
• Epic EMR system; 36 hours of orientation provided
• Patient ratios of 1:2; unit includes 6 beds with daily census averaging 4 patients and approximately 6 visits per day
• Ability to work independently in a rural setting where one L&D nurse may be scheduled per shift, with charge nurse or on-call backup available
• Diverse case mix including elective inductions, augmentation of labor, preterm labor, VBACs, treatment of preeclampsia and eclampsia, scheduled NSTs, and OB triage patients
• May assist with postpartum and nursery care as patient volumes and staffing needs warrant

Requirements:

• Active, unencumbered Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery experience required; previous charge experience preferred
• Experience with 1:2 patient ratios required
• Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS, Fetal Heart Monitoring, NRP, and STABLE
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must be able to work independently and manage labor patients while also caring for OB triage and outpatient patients as needed
• Candidates must provide 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Clean background check required; facility does not accept Nursys or background hits
• Candidates located within 50-mile radius may be considered at adjusted compensation
