Location: Southeast Alabama

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; 3x12 or 4x12 hours per week based on your preference. Block scheduling may be accommodated. Every other weekend required. 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Highlights

• Work with neurocritical care patients including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, post-thrombectomy patients, traumatic brain injuries, status epilepticus, and spinal cord injuries
• Manage specialized equipment including intracranial pressure monitors and external ventricular drains
• Epic charting system in a 10-bed Neuro ICU unit with daily census of 8-10 patients
• 24 hours of orientation with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Respiratory Services, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
• Level II Trauma facility with 420 staffed beds, recognized as a Best-In-State employer by Forbes for three consecutive years
• First-time travelers welcome; 13-week assignment with possible extension opportunities

Requirements

• Active Alabama RN license or Compact license required at time of submission
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Neuro ICU experience required
• Minimum 2 years of overall nursing experience preferred
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Must reside at least 75-90 miles from the facility location
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered); Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Competency in arterial line management, ventilator care, central line management, continuous IV sedation, blood product administration, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, ICP monitoring, and EVD management
