Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants (local rate differential may apply)

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), 36 hours per week. Weekend requirement: 6 weekends (12 weekend shifts) per 13-week contract. Self-scheduling. No call required.

Highlights:

• Progressive care stepdown unit with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratios on a 12-bed unit
• Comprehensive patient population similar to ICU, excluding MI, GI bleeds, and DKA
• Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring, drip titration, central lines, wound care, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapies
• Meditech charting system; 24-hour unit orientation plus hospital orientation week one
• 13-week contracts available with up to 7 days of pre-approved time off (excluding holidays)
• Rotating float requirement to ICU or stepdown ICU if census is low

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
• Minimum 2 years of progressive care, stepdown, or telemetry nursing experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Stroke Life Support
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR required
• Competency in telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, cardiac drips (including titration), IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, blood product administration, central/PICC/peripheral line management, wound care/wound vac, and respiratory support modalities (BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula)
• Experience with CVA patients, substance withdrawal, feeding tube management, port access, and isolation precautions
• First-time travelers accepted; travel experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital or community hospital experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Must complete pre-start online modules (8-10 hours, non-billable) using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
• Must be available for full orientation week one, including daily hospital classes
• Candidates must provide black scrubs (not provided)
