Job Opportunity – Clinical Decision Unit / Med-Surg Telemetry RN – West Virginia

Start Date: ASAP

Location: West Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week travel assignment, 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week with every other weekend required. Orientation held every other Monday.

Highlights:

• Med-Surg Telemetry unit with Clinical Decision Unit component, 11-bed capacity with 1:6 patient ratios
• Patient population includes cardiac, CHF, COPD, stroke, chest pain, and postoperative orthopedic patients
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, stroke/CVA care, IV therapy, and blood product administration
• Electronic charting system: Cerner (non-billable modules required, approximately 8 hours completion time)
• Float may be required to other Med-Surg units; first-time travelers accepted
• All age groups: infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Active West Virginia or Compact RN license (pending license accepted for submission)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (must be American Heart Association for BLS/ACLS)
• Permanent address must be at least 75 miles from facility (75-100 mile radius considered case-by-case)
• Minimum of 2 manager and/or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions considered with physician documentation and facility exemption form; religious exemptions not accepted)
• Strong clinical skills including dysrhythmia management, IV starts and maintenance, oxygen therapy, isolation precautions, and rapid response/code situations
