Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Progressive Care Unit & Medical-Surgical – Wisconsin

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM. Every other weekend rotation, every other holiday. Standby call as needed. Four 12-hour shifts per week considered for candidates willing to work additional weekends.

Highlights:

• Mixed acuity unit caring for PCU, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and occasional ICU patients in a 23-bed unit with daily census of 10
• Patient ratios vary based on acuity level (3-6 patients); charge experience preferred
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams
• Cerner charting system; barcode scanning compliance of 95% or higher required
• 24 hours of orientation provided; free onsite parking available
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with cardiac/respiratory, orthopedic, and general surgery diagnoses

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only) required
• Minimum 2 years of acute RN experience in Medical-Surgical and Progressive Care Unit settings within the last 3 years
• First-time travelers must have at least 3 years of experience in a hybrid unit
• Solid PCU foundation essential for success in this blended unit environment
• Must pass telemetry exam prior to assignment start (80% passing score; 100% accuracy required for lethal rhythms and 3rd-degree heart blocks)
• Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring, central line management, ventilator care, chest tubes, arterial lines, and management of cardiac and vasoactive drips
