Opportunity:

RN - Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend night positions require Friday, Saturday, and Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, and Monday availability
• Holiday rotation participation required
• Acute care setting on a 20-bed Neuroscience unit with a 1:5-6 patient ratio for floor patients
• Nurse aides available on unit with a 1:7-10 ratio, 3 aides per shift
• Charge nurse support available 24/7
• Common patient diagnoses include neurosciences, deep brain stimulators, stroke, seizures, surgical/post-op spines, and neurological disorders
• EPIC charting system required - recent EPIC experience is required
• Strong overall neuro experience required
• Proficiency and frequency with G-tubes required
• Telemetry monitoring available on unit - RNs verify monitor tech strip readings in EPIC but are not required to independently read strips
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 to manage floor vents - RNs are not required to have vent experience
• Titration performed by physician orders; some protocol-based titration may apply with facility education provided
• May float to 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E as first priority, then other hospital units as needed
• Up to 3 consecutive shifts allowed but not guaranteed - flexibility required
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• 1 orientation shift on the unit
• Scrub color: any combination of white and royal blue
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS (must be in hand at time of submission); ACLS preferred
• Any background hits must be disclosed at time of submission

This acute care facility operates a dedicated Neuroscience unit providing specialized care for patients with complex neurological conditions. The unit supports a collaborative care model with 24/7 charge nurse coverage, dedicated nurse aides, and around-the-clock respiratory therapy services. The facility utilizes EPIC as its electronic health records system and maintains high standards of patient care across its neuroscience service line.
