Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg & Tele

Job Details:

• Night shift position on a 36-bed Med/Surg & Tele unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Nurse aide support available at a 1:5 ratio
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS experience required
• RNs must be comfortable reading telemetry strips and escalating to a physician when concerning findings are identified - no tele/monitor techs on unit
• Must be comfortable titrating drips including analgesics for pain, anticoagulants for blood clots, and antihypertensives for blood pressure control
• Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure (CHF), hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, and ventilators
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
• Weekend requirement: minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Holiday requirement applies
• Floating requirements determined by Nurse Manager; in extreme need, may float within Zone 3
• Charge nurse takes an assignment
• No scrub color or dress code requirements
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Trauma Level 3, Acute Care setting
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Provider must be within 60 miles of facility and driver's license must be submitted
• Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation even if first day modules are completed remotely

The facility is a Trauma Level 3 designated center equipped with modern respiratory therapy equipment and utilizes EPIC for electronic health record charting.
