Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health / Detox
Facility: Berkshire Medical Center – McGee Unit
Location: Pittsfield, MA
Start Date: November 30, 2026
Contract: 13 Weeks
Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 40 hours guaranteed per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Holiday coverage required if scheduled/needed
On-Call: Possible
Position Overview
Berkshire Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for its McGee Unit, a 20-bed inpatient detoxification unit specializing in substance abuse treatment and recovery.
Important: This is specifically a Detox/Substance Abuse nursing position. General Behavioral Health experience without substance abuse or detox experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to adult patients undergoing detoxification and substance abuse treatment.
Assess patients' physical and behavioral health conditions and monitor withdrawal symptoms.
Administer medications and monitor patient responses in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
Monitor vital signs and identify changes in patient conditions requiring clinical intervention.
Support patient safety, therapeutic communication, and individualized treatment plans.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, clinical nurse specialists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow facility policies and nursing standards.
Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday coverage as required.
Required Qualifications
Active Massachusetts RN license in hand at the time of submission.
Minimum 2 years of current Detox/Substance Abuse nursing experience.
At least 6 months of previous travel experience.
Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
Ability to work the required 8-hour evening shift.
Must have personal transportation/own vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
Meditech Expanse experience highly preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Patterns Hiring Job ID #72242. Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
