LTAC Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Ohio
• At least 1 year of professional RN experience required
• Two or more years of bedside clinical experience preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before the first shift
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required based on unit and patient-care needs
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and time-management skills
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate care to medically complex patients in a fast-paced long-term acute care setting

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments within required timeframes and use findings to develop individualized plans of care.
• Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in status, and communicate pertinent information promptly to the care team and providers.
• Support patient rehabilitation goals through education, encouragement, and collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Initiate discharge planning at admission and provide teaching to prepare patients and families for continued care.
• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care-plan updates accurately and on time.
• Delegate appropriately and provide direction, training, and supervision to nursing assistants, practical nurses, and orienting staff.
• Promote patient and employee safety by following infection prevention, safe-handling, fall-prevention, and workplace safety practices.
• Prioritize assignments, manage time effectively, and contribute to efficient unit operations.
• Assume charge responsibilities after orientation as requested and participate in ongoing professional development.
