Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Metairie, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse
• Patient Ratio: Typically 1:2, sometimes flexes to 1:3
• Schedule:

  • Weekends required: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
  • No call required
• Float Requirements:

  • Will float to all ICUs
  • May float to Emergency Department (ED) or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to care for ICU patients
  • Occasional float to Medical-Surgical/Progressive Care Units with 1:4 patient ratios
• Nursing Duties: Includes lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts
• Equipment Used:

  • Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA pumps
  • Servo I ventilators
  • Fresenius CRRT Dialysis machines
  • Edwards Lifesciences cardiac monitors
  • Medtronic EVD Management Systems
  • Arctic Sun TMS
  • GE Monitors, Hill Rom Beds
  • Pyxis Medication Station
  • Veratron Bladder Scanner
• COVID-19: May care for COVID-19 patients; must be able to manage isolation precautions and know your N95 mask size
• Return to Office (RTO): Limited to 5 days total

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience
• ICU nursing experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• CPI certification (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• NIH certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
