Description
Neurology Registered Nurse
Overview
- Travel assignment in Newburgh, Indiana
- 13-week contract
- Primary location: Gateway
- 12-hour day shift, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM
- Weekend block required
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week; may accept 48-hour contracts upon request
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Neurology (2 years of experience)
- Neurology experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Strong neurological assessments
- Heparin drip initiation and titration
- Indwelling drain management
- Trauma experience
- Experience with Epic
Preferred
- Social candidates
- Hard worker
- Resilient and manages change well
Unit Details
- Neuro Surgical MS RN
- 37-bed unit
- Patient population includes Neuro and Neuro-Surgical patients, CVAs, elective back/neck surgeries, post-op cranis, cerebral angiogram, general medical, and psych
Float / Scheduling
- First to float within skillset
- May float to Deaconess Midtown campus and potentially to Deaconess Henderson
- Mid-shift float within the same campus is possible
- Every weekend required
- Every other holiday required
Additional Notes
- Teaching hospital; may require precepting of students and new hires
- No local candidates within 40 miles
- Navy blue scrubs required
- COVID-19 vaccine not required, subject to change
