Registered Nurse - Chemotherapy

Overview

Location: Hermiston, Oregon
Setting: Chemotherapy nursing role

Required Qualifications

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Valid RN license in Oregon
Oncology (1 year of experience)
Oncology experience within the last year
Experience in an Acute Care setting
BLS
ONS/ONCC

Preferred Qualifications

BSN
Previous Oncology Experience
Oncology Nursing Certification, or prepared to obtain ideally within 3 years of date of hire

Role Summary

Provides direct and indirect patient services to Chemotherapy patients
Includes administrative functions, teaching, triage, counseling, supervision, delegation, and administration of chemotherapy medications and treatment as prescribed by accredited physicians/NPs
Responsible for initiating and maintaining the computerized Plan of Care/Standard of Care on admission
Participates in performance improvement activities
Expected to work independently and communicate with physicians, NPs, the Nurse Manager, and co-workers about patient condition changes and policy/procedure updates
