Telemetry RN

Role Overview

Travel RN position in the Telemetry unit.

Unit Details

36 beds
Patient ratio: 4:1 with cath recovery; 6:1 max, and at times may be stretched to 7:1
Staffing includes PCTS on day and night shift, and Unit Clerks on day shift
Uses Remote Telemetry monitors and Alaris pumps
Documentation system: Meditech
Floating: agency floats first; may float to Ortho/Med-Surg
Schedule includes every other weekend

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kentucky
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Telemetry (2 years of experience)
Telemetry experience within the last year
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
Knowledge of chest tubes
Dysrhythmia training

Preferred / Helpful

Knowledge of chest tubes
Dysthymia training

Procedures Performed on the Unit

Chest tube insertions
Bedside Paracentesis
Thoracentesis

Additional Notes

Dress code: any scrubs except camo
