Operating Room RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract assignment in Abilene, Texas
• 13-week contract
• Day shift: 4x10 hours, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
• Schedule may include Mon–Wed or Wed–Fri, with call and late days as required
• Facility can also consider 5x8s if the traveler prefers

• Neuro/Spine
• Ortho/trauma
• General/robotics/trauma
• Craniotomy and burr hole experience required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Operating Room experience within the last year
• 2 years of Operating Room experience
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Craniotomy and burr hole experience
• Ortho Trauma experience
• Neurosurgery experience
• 2 references within 3 years of start
• Resume/application
• Skills checklist
• Government-issued photo ID
• E-Verify or attestation
• Background check
• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG within 30 days of start
• Education verification of highest level
• Texas DADS Employability Status Check within 30 days of start
• Texas Employee Misconduct Registry check within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Negative TB or chest X-ray completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Rubeola (Measles) completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Mumps completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Rubella completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Hepatitis B completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Varicella completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Drug testing plan in place within 72 hours of signing contract
• Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation for 2026–27
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing
• Color blind testing online
• Competency exam
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
• State license verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
• Pass/fail testing for Telemetry RNs
• TB questionnaire annually for Aya candidates

Additional Notes

• Parking is available for orientation and employee parking after orientation, with no fee
• Modules are required during orientation and take roughly 3–4 hours to complete
• Onsite fit mask option is available for $15 cash
• Seasonal flu vaccine exemption may be accepted if needed
