CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant

Overview

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Shift: Day, 5 x 8 hours (7:00 to 15:30)
• Hours: 8 per day, 40 per week
• Call: 2 call days per week
• Weekends: Every other weekend (subject to change to every third or fourth weekend)

Required Qualifications

• CVOR First Assist experience of 1 year, with experience within the last year
• BLS certification (AHA only)
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification, or FA certification
• Hard stop: experience with endoscopic vein harvesting is required
• Experience with Epic

Health and Compliance Requirements

• TB test (QuantiFERON, T-SPOT, or 2-step skin test) within 3 months of start, or documentation of a past positive test with chest X-ray within 5 years, plus an annual TB questionnaire (required for all candidates)
• Tdap vaccine within the past 10 years (medical or religious exemptions accepted)
• Two MMR vaccines or a positive titer for measles, mumps, and rubella (boosters required if the titer is low and no vaccine proof is provided)
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination signed within 12 months of start
• Two varicella vaccines or a positive titer (boosters required if the titer is low and no vaccine proof is provided)
• Influenza vaccination or documentation required October 1 through March 31, with documentation on file by 10/31 for starts on 10/1 (medical or religious exemptions and declinations accepted; unvaccinated candidates must wear a mask at all times)
• Physical exam not required

Other Requirements

• Read the employee appearance policy before starting
• Complete the CPI course (Blue Card accepted only) within 30 days of start if not already certified
