Labor and Delivery

Assignment Details

13-week contract
Night shift, 3x12 hours: 19:00–7:30
36 hours per week
Float required as needed
Staffing ratio: 1:1–3

Role Focus

2 years of experience in LDRP, L&D, PP, and newborn care
Patient diagnoses include Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Normal Newborn
Special procedures include Vaginal Delivery, Cesarean Delivery, circulating in OR, starting adult IVs, blood and blood products administration, drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
Special equipment includes Circulate C/S, High Risk Antepartum, High Risk L&D, LDRP, Low Risk Antepartum/LD, OB-GYN, Post-Op/Pre-Op, and Couplet Care

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Washington
Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure issued by American Academy of Pediatrics or American Heart Association or Canadian Paediatric Society
AWHONN Intermediate
FHM
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience circulating for C-sections
Ability to start adult IVs
Experience with blood and blood products administration
Experience with drains, epidural pumps, and PCA pumps
Experience administering insulin and magnesium sulfate
Ability to interpret fetal heart rate strips
