Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA)
• 1 year of Certified Surgical Technologist experience, completed within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, RQI, or American Safety and Health Institute

Background and Employment Checks

• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually, including SSN trace, county criminal searches for the last 7 years of locations lived, worked, or attended school, national sex offender search, and education verification of highest level
• 7-year work history verification for all candidates
• Education verification (highest level)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, required upon hire
• Driver's license or state ID
• E-Verify for direct candidates; attestation for subcontractors
• Employment application or resume
• Two professional references, within 2 years of start
• Unit-specific skills checklist, annually
• HIPAA form (or core testing for subcontractors)
• Clear headshot for badge

Health Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Adult Tdap within 10 years of start
• Negative 2-step PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-SPOT within 1 year of start; positive results require proof, a chest X-ray within 5 years dated after the positive result, and a TB questionnaire within 90 days of start
• Measles (rubeola), mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity via positive titer, vaccines, or accepted declination or booster, per the source's titer rules
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, not required annually
• Fit test within 1 year of start, done onsite, renewed annually
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (10/01–03/31); declinations not accepted

Residency Restriction

• Does not contract travelers residing in the following counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris.
